West coast delivery always through canal?
I have read conflicting things about the trip from Bremerhaven to the west coast. (The vin starts with WBA so I assume German build) Do the cars always travel entirely by ship or do some stop on east coast and travel by train? Is 30 days port-to-port a good rough estimate, or does the transit time depend on carrier and other things? It isn't urgent, but I am trying to coordinate the getting rid of 2 cars about the time the replacement comes.
The car is just in production this week, so I realize it won't get here tomorrow. Thanks |

Yes. Sometimes they go all the way around the Horn but not very often.

4-6 weeks is a reasonable estimate for transit from Bremerhaven to Port Hueneme. I have not seen cars being unloaded on the East Coast and shipped via rail to the West Coast. It would be highly unlikely.

VIN starting with WBA does not guarantee Germany build. Look at 11th character of VIN, if it's N then car is SA build.
A, F & K is Munich. E, J & P are Regensburg.

Shipping by boat is actually the cheapest way of getting cars across the globe so that's why they do that.
