Remote Start Is Finally Here!

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Not sure exactly when this will be available but I will update when I find out.

EDIT: I believe you can call your local dealer and get this already. parts may not be available, but you can order.

and for everyone saying "its about time", "should be standard", "my kia has this", it was against the law in Germany.
Same reason Mercedes, Audi, and Porsche have never offered remote start.

That's the x5/6 fob. I doubt they'll change the key for the 5 series.

Well I'm thinking some laws in Germany changed. There was a law in Germany saying you can't leave your car running without you in it.

You have to have the parking brake engaged? That is a little annoying.

This better be the first step towards catching up with what is becoming common feature. They could and should just integrate it into the app. And make it standard on all automatic models.

Took long enough, you can get a damn Hyundai with remote start. Most Chrysler products offer it.

Why can't they offer idrive 5.0 and CarPlay retrofits as well. These are more relevant in my opinion.

Eh? Why would you want remote start with the handbrake off? At least with it on you know your car isn't going to jump into gear and smash into the wall/garage/neighbours cat/small child?!
