The middle offers 540i/ 530d are very well balanced offering enough power and good fuel consumption.
There is also MPPK, so the performance can be upgraded a little bit. The other superior engines are quite expensive and for a DD there is not a really good performance/ price raport. Also a 4 cyl engine in this class is not the best combo either. Curious about the new M5 too |

So we still don't know how it really drives, specially compare to F10. As much I like the handling of the F10, it's far from the best in class so I need to know how much better the G30 is, so I can start imagine the next M5 before actually buys one

I'm really interested to hear about the differences between the new 540i M Sport, M550i, and M5 of course we'll have to wait a while to see the new M550i and new M5.

Meh this is just one of those MotorWeek type of reviews where they never say anything negative about any car. It's useful just to get to know the car, but doesn't provide any real analysis.

BMW claims the M550i with xDrive will "provisionally" do 0-100kph in 4.0 sec.: http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle...rformance.html Might actually be faster than that, because BMW is pretty careful with their claims. Wouldn't want to upset the pecking order too much. So will an M550i with xDrive be able to out-drag a non-xDrive M5? I think so. Just because of basic physics. But, as we all know, "it's not all just about drag racing" LOL.

I don't know. There were a few back handed compliments in there. Somewhat like having someone coming up to you at a party and saying "Is that your wife? Wow, she is gorgeous!"
