Tire warranty package!!
Hi, I bought a Tire warranty package when i purchased my car..and i just found out one of my run flat has defected by two tiny nails..and i just wondering will they still charge me for labor fee??also anyone knows how long will it take to just fix that instead of replacing the tire??

When I had my tire replaced there was no charge, they just had to order the tire since they didn't have 19s in stock but other than that pretty simple.

you will be charge zero dollars. you probably wont have a say as to either repairing it or replacing the tire.. but since you have nails on them, im guessing they will be replaced.

yah agree.. just got my car today..kinda got "pressured" into buying the tire warranty..but they know its for my own good haha
pretty disappointed when i saw my tires were bridgestone turanzas tho... i heard from other bmw forums that if u think they are too loud u can switch to continentals or sth for free b4 10,000km? anyone know if thats true? and if the turanzas really do suck?

Congrats on the new car, first of all! Do you mind me asking how much you paid for the warranty? Feel free to PM me. Thinking of doing a deal in next few weeks myself.

$899 for the warranty now at Brian jessel..altho im sure u can talk them down.. but doesnt sound as good as everyone says it is..each tire costs $222 on tirerack..so you will have to blow 4 tires to "break even"...
plus im pretty pissed that they decided to tack on fees here and there..so shady..but i guess SAs have to do it in order to make a living..

I am picking up my Bimmer at the end of May and they are charging me $600 plus taxes for my tire warranty here in Ottawa. I could be wrong on this and, if so, hopefully someone will correct me, but I think that the warranty is for 3 years and maximum of $5000 total. It also covers damage to the rims as well. I asked if it covered tires and rims other than the OEMs and they said that it does. I think that the warranty offered here is from a third party and not BMW. This is why it covers non-OEMs as well. Not sure if this is the case in BC.

PS Are you sure your prices are right? I just priced out on Tirerack the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A RFT for 18's and they're (front/rear) $275 and $340 each, and for 19's they're $315 and $346 each. |

Ya, I'm only getting 16's with my car as it is going to be an Xi without sport package. I am not sure but I don't think that the size of the tire dictates the price of the warranty as they said that it covers non-OEM tires and rims, which may be a diffenent size depending on what you choose. I told them that I would be buying winter tires and rims elsewhere and asked if they would be covered and they said "Yes" without giving any stipulations on size or price. As I said, I think the warranty (providing the warranty you get is similar to the one I am buying) covers up to a maximum dollar value so it wouldn't matter if you bought tires and rims that cost more than the OEMs. Hope this helps. Ask these questions to your SA and see what he/she says.

Tire Warranty
I was told that they charge more for the road hazard warranty if you have the sport suspension -- I paid $799 for mine, but they include both my (BMW) summers, and the winter rims and tires I bought from Tire Rack.

I went to the 1 Series Drive event a week and a half ago. Was a lot of fun and afterwards they have you fill out a questionnaire and send you on your way with a couple of flyers. I shoved them into my pocket and didn't look at them until later that night. One of them said that if I purchase or lease a BMW in the next 90 days they will give me the tire insurance for free! I have a 335i on order already! The Drive event was a blast and they basically gave me $900 to attend! (the cost at BJ is $899)

If you don't have extra cash kicking around atm, I think you can divide the payments into two month or something..That's what I was told by Catherine at BJ
EDIT: For those of you who intend to get the tire package not the OP.

And what if you have 20000 km's on the tires, then one goes. You're not supposed to replace one new one, so I assume they'll just replace that one, and you have to replace the other side, at the least, and generally, it's recommended that you replace the other 3 so you're not riding on two new tires and two old ones with 20000 km's on them. In that case, i suppose you're still at least saving the cost of that tire that went...

^ ya i agree im confused too.. maybe if i get a flat i will "argue" with them and say is unsafe to replace just one new tire with 3 old ones and demand all of them be changed hahaha
