Mixing tires with xDrive

Hey all,

Just grabbed a set of used Style 269's with Pirelli PZero run flats. The two rears are brand new (255/30/19), but the fronts (225/35/19) are basically toast... both are worn and one is badly damaged. Is it safe to run Non-RFT summers in the same size, or do I need to track down exact replacements?

Thanks!

Dan

The diameters are okay, 0.8%. I'm just concerned about mixing tread/compound/RFT/Non RFT.

It's safe to run rft with non-rft - the only difference will be a bit more bumpier rears vs a bit more softer ride fronts (non RFTs). Diameter is within limit. Thread imho should not mater at all for summers. In winter thread will matter, but not in summer. The difference in thread in summer will only become apparent if you track the car - in some extreme cornering your rear will begin to slide earlier probably due to harder sidewall of RFTs, but I have a feeling you don't track your car - so all should be good

Top Gear (now Grand Tour) once shot an episode in India - tires are classified there not by thread or winter/summer or RFT/non RFT, not even size, but can it hold air or not lol
