Thumbs up Ticking noise FIXED!!!

My ticking noise was fixed. I picked my car from the dealer this morning. Please click on this link to see the service invoice or see the attachment.

Long story short, there were major work done to my engine in January. Since then, I'had been having the ticking noise, which according to them was caused by "Cylinder 4 valve 32 had an excessive clearance between roller and trunnion on the valve lever". Listen to the videos below for that annoying noise, the car sounds like a diesel truck. I hope this help the people out there with such noise.

Now is time to install procede and the bms filter, I cant wait to get out of work. Sorry for the video being linked instead of being embedded, I dont know how to get around it

Man! Sounds worse than a diesel.

Sounds like crap. Worse than a diesel. BMW sure should not sound like that. Glad they fixed it.

That's why i was so sad. I wanted to trade my car for something else. I was going to do it if they could not fix it. I felt like i was driving a truck.

Wow man!
It sounds like your ticking was way worse than most of ours.
This is not the normal wastegate actuators going bad.

I'm glad they took good care of you!

Pray you dont, I spent a whole week without my car. Does it sounds that bad? Take a video and post it to see if it sounds the same.

Becuase this car are FI, there will be a ticking noise some times. My other (not_so_friendly) SA, told me once that it was normal, that BMW is working on a fix, but that was not my case as we've seen.

I'll record it after I install my mods again. Afterall, it sounds normal now, as it was when I first got it.

Man, that "scoring" on the cam lobe sounds nasty, I wonder if there was a point of oil starvation that caused that. Did the dealer have any idea how that could have happened to just one lobe?

Alright, just came from test driving my recently re-proceded car + the BMS filter. I owe to tell you how excited I am with this thing, that sounds is contagious. Too bad that gas prices are ridiculously high cuz this filter is going to make a whole in my pocket due to high-revving driving.

The car is just awesome, the procede and the filter install went smooth. I've heard of people having little hard time during the BMS filter install, but it was a piece of cake. If I can do it, you can do it. It took me about 30 minutes, it is worth mentioning I was talking on the phone while working on it.

I am re-conciliated with my car again. Hope my experience help others with similar problems.

I dont think they have any idea. It was not oil starvation, this was a new engine they installed, and it was like that since day one.

What kind of "major work" was done in January? Was this work not done properly, leading to this?

New engine? Did they replace your engine before this?
