Sorry for the lack of research on my part but quick question on ED. I got a quote on 2018 440i GC for $61410 w/ all the options/packages I wanted. I just wanted to confirm the only discount is the base price and does not include discounts on options/packages chosen?

What do you mean? What's the discount? BTW I think you can go lower on that price, ED or not.

ED discounts both the msrp and invoice by 5% off base price. You are then free to negotiate a discount as you would with any purchase - usually near 7% additional on both base price and options - not destination. Plus any rebate or financing rate incentives.

I will check my ED numbers and verify.

Correct. The 5% ED discount only applies to the base car MSRP and Invoice. It does not apply to the options.

Confirmed.

So the base price for 2018 440i is 48,700. Take 5% ED discount and it goes to 46,265

Then add to the 46,265 the list price of all options except 995 dest & handling.

With this subtotal, you should be able to find offers close to 7% off, then add 995 dest and handling, then tax on new total and finally a doc fee of around 200 (depending on your regional going rate) - that gives you a total you are shooting for.

If you list your exact options and sales tax rate and I can check your number for you.

$57,605 plus tax, $80 doc fee, and registration

Although I don't know if there are any differences on the west coast - sometimes there are with rebates, but no rebates in this example.
