Surprised I haven't seen this posted yet.

How can a simple design look so good?

Couldn't find this on my DirecTV DVR, "No upcoming episodes". Went to the JLG website on CNBC and it said "Returns June 2017". Then I discovered this was posted to the JLG YouTube channel today.

Less is more approach. Always a winner.

Saw this and it was very cool. Placed an ///M 4-cylinder in it, sweet sound. Only complaint is that he put an M badge on it and called it an M2 (10 years ago, when modded). The guy wants to add a resonator to it to suppress some of the sound but Jay, wisely, advised against it. Keeping the 'character' intact.

On first glance I thought it was the Clarion build car. But it's not.

Nicely done 2002. E30 M3 motor swap, widened track with Alpina wheels. Lots of little touches, that stand up well today and were probably miles ahead 10 years ago in terms of keeping a car clean.

I'm not the biggest fan of Leno's reviews, its like he holds back and censors his true thoughts. The guy who built the car as well, seemed knowledgeable but was afraid to "brag" about this awesome build! Let's hear the laundry list next time!

The M2 badge needs to go. As a bimmer guy, he should know you don't imitate an M car. That car is unique enough as it is. He could have done something cheeky like the engine size within the 2002 or something, but leaving it along or de-badged would be fine!

I used this car as a model for the build on my car. I love the way it turned out as I believe VSR improved on this build. Great fun to drive. We did not add an M2 badge.

Nice. I love me some 2002. I've been looking at picking one up for a restomod project.

So do I, I like the think the Z4 pulls from that tail light lineage even though the designer said it didn't.

Mark at Bavarian workshop is awesome. He is an enthusiast with a big imagination. He builds the coolest stuff. He has an S54 powered E9 and that e46 m3 wagon that was blowing up the internet last year. He tends to stay pretty low key and promotes the car above himself so I was happy to see him on camera.

I agree on the M badge but an M badge on an 02 has always been the sign of an 'M2' in that scene. If you have the badge without the s14 then you posing. By todays standards seems a bit off but I get it.

Leno is awesome. Really cool guy. He isnt as forward with his opinions as Matt Farah who will have no problem saying he doesnt like something or that someones car isnt to his taste.

But thats the thing...I want to hear Leno's opinion.

I watch Matt Farah every day, but I'd rather hear Leno's opinion given their experiences and shear variety of cars Leno has owned and driven by comparison.

Yes.
Leno's Ford Galaxy 500 is one of the great auto videos.
Then when you watch Jacque Laffite do test on track with M3, EB110 you realize how lame all other track videos are.

Honestly, Chris Harris is my favorite.

I'm also growing fond of Matt LeBlancs humor and animation on the newest Top Gear.
