In need of a good driving shoe

In need of a really good driving shoe. I'm flat footed too. The most I'll spend is $600 for a slip on.

I prefer barefoot unless I need fire protection. Always wear fire protection from head to toe on the track.

I drive a manual f10, and out of all the shoes I have, (mostly adidas and Nike), adidas NMD's have been the best haha. Not even joking, you can feel everything with those shoes.

Minnetonka Driving Moc

Cole Haan Grant - nibs on bottom

Tods Gommino - nibs - (though their older moc with smooth bottom was better)

Go to Ferrari web site store for their Puma driving shoe - $110 - smooth sole with sipes.

If you slide your foot on pedals the little nibs on the sole may not be the best design.

I usually wear a pair of Sketchers, somewhat worn down so they aren't as 'knobby' - great pedal feel and real comfortable. Griots has a hilarious $250 loafer, complete with bright red stitching to match my interior, but I don't think I could go into a store in them w/a straight face (ditto for those cool Puma driving shoes)

I prefer slip on loafers. A casual dress shoe. The clutch, brake and gas pedals are inherently close together on BMW's. The thinner the sole and the leather, the more preferred.

To boot New York or Gucci. That said my asic slip on tigers have a very thin sole and are excellent to drive in. Like $50 USd.

I like Pumas for driving shoes. I typically have to buy one size up though since they run narrow.

This.

I've worn these for years and don't have a single complaint. They are great for 2 or 3 pedal driving and you can walk around in them quite comfortably.

Town or track?

For around town...

For track some people use wrestling shoes, though they are not fire retaridant.

Here's what I wear. I swear by them.

Year round comfort, style and sophistication. Perfect for every* situation.

The unique fitting means they can be easily removed after entry to the vehicle before takeoff and easily refitting before exiting the vehicle. Both can be achieved without taking your hands off the wheel.

Thus allowing the unparalleled feel and feedback of bare-foot driving.

Either a pair of Sperry's or those shoes that look like gloves for your feet.

+1 for safety thongs

The only problem with these is when you have to get out of the car quickly you're left running around on hot asphalt and bits of broken car with no shoes on.
