My April built Convertible is at the dealer with the boot!
Yes.. My convertible order that went into production on 3/31 was built with the rag top boot! It's got delivered to the dealer late this afternoon, just before I happened to stop by on my way home. They still need to PDI it and also will be checking to see if I can stack a voucher discount on top of fleet. If I can, I'll have to wait til 5/20 to pick her up, since the voucher won't be good till then, if not, I'll pick her up by this weekend..
Here's a pic.. I'll get some better ones tomorrow.

No doubt - Lab Series SPF 50 ftw
The misconception with Convertible ownership is that you will be automatically driving around in the scorching sun. "The Ultimate Tanning Machine" Ha! Best time to drive with the top down is before the sun comes up or after the sun has set. Nothing beats night driving with the open sky. Ludicrous said it best... "Roll Out, Top Back !!" |

If you ever feel your 2 series convertible is getting boring go and test drive a 3 series you'll soon realise the 2 series is a real divers car.
I've had my convertible in for a service this week as well my Active Tourer. BMW loaned me a new 3 series M sport for the week. I have to say BMW's 2 series is a wonderful piece of kit this includes my Active Tourer 225xe. If only BMW would sell the 240i convertible in New Zealand as we only get the 220i which is a great drive but now I'm thinking the 2 series will be a collectors car once it goes front wheel drive or gets dropped altogether so the 240i will be the car to own long term. |

Lovely car .... and doesn't it look streamlined against all the others in the dealer's parking lot?
My first BMW was a 320i Touring E30 and the previous (to my M235i) a 330d Touring. In the intervening years between the E30 and F30, the 3 Series Touring added a foot in length and a stonking 43% extra weight: Talk about middle-age spread. The 2 Series really does hark back to the earlier years of nimble, small, but powerful BMWs.
