Will SG be dangerous to see in twilight ?

Hello

I have ordered a SG 325 SE (UK) and I am now having doubts about the colour. The photos of SG all look great, and it changes appearance in different light conditions which is kinda interesting.

However after having seen a few, in dim and twilight (sp) conditions I am worried it typically looks pretty dull colour, and would not be so obvious to see in twilight. So I am also rather worried about safety and side impacts sitting in this coloured car.

Especially here in the UK where it always pretty dreary light condtions

Any veiws / concerns over beeing seen in a SG ?

SG is still the nicest colour out there, and the fact that it is a unique colour which is only offerred on the E90 makes that much more attractive.
It only looks dull when its dirty, however if you keep it clean and put some nice tinted windows it will look amazing.
I was undecided at first between silver and SG, however when I see an E90 on the road the SG stands out and looks amazing. This is why I ordered my SG 330I with sport package.
Whatever you decide it's gonna look good, I for one stuck with my original choice and went with the SG
Good luck.

It's not just SG... most dark/neutral coloured cars will be the same. The safest colour is actually a vibrant red.

- Either turn on your day time running lights permanently
- or... get into the habit of turning on the angel eyes (parking lights) anytime you get into the car
- or leave your lights in the Automatic position (if you have this feature) so that the dipped headlights come on automatically at twilight (actually, they are quite sensitive so will come on a bit before)

S.G. looks great until it gets dirty, then it looks not-so-great. Plus in certain lighting it can be very purplish. If I'm not mistaken I did read somewhere that most insurance companies consider lighter colored cars to be more noticeable in traffic situations and as such are less susceptible to accidents. Whether or not they charge less premiums for them, I'm not sure...

SG gives off many different colors at various different surroundings, but it shines the most with a proud driver inside!! ^^

SG is pretty interesting...when it's bright and sunny, it looks pretty light, like a steel-gray metallic...but right after sunset it looks like a completely different color. It really does sparkle, under certain lighting conditions.

Valid point, but that's why we have lights, and side markers. It's still much more visible than a motorcycle.

Plus you may get less tickets with SG than you would with bright red.

SG is great with Xenon angel eyes, I leave mine on all the time as they are very noticeable.

Bloody 'ell it must be a slow morning.

Next: the 330 logo on my car is too small and too silvery. People can't read it from more than 50 feet. What should I do?

The main downside to SG is that it swirls nearly as bad as black.

This is what it's come down to. We've run out of things to say. It's all been said before, asked before, polled before.

Time to hibernate until the E92 debut.

Yes, but it's only obligatory for Volvo drivers.

Everyone else has the option to use whatever lights are appropriate for the conditions.

If you are really worried about the visibility of your car, just turn on your headlights.

LOL - yes I do... but I still love my SG E90.. as others have said, I am just careful to have my headlights on when I am driving in twilight or on the highway... gives me a chance to run those gorgeous angels
