LSD and XI
Can you install an LSD on a 335xi? Would it help? Would you need an LSD on both the front and rear diffs for this to work correctly, or would rear only be ok? I haven't seen this discussed on the forums yet (or maybe i missed it).

yeah, not sure about the center either. Figured we'd start with the front and rear and take it from there. No clue about this

put you car on a lift and run it in first gear, then with gloves on apply force to one of the spinning wheels and see what happens.disable any type of traction control also.see what the wheels do with no computer stepping in.
Hopefully they will all be spinning and when you aply force to one you will feel a transfer difference from one side to the other |

I'm sure the xi could benefit from LSD's, but it would probably be very expensive.
I honestly don't think you need it, unless you plan on tracking your car a lot. xDrive does a great job as is. The lack of LSD is more critical on the RWD 335.

Great review of Xdrive. I don't think you even need LSD with the AWD....It gets good traction.

My Acura CL had a helical LSD, and it was a crazy thing to drive (FWD). It's really spooking when the front is hopping sideways..... |
