Just traded M235 for 535.
For those of you who are thinking of it, I recently traded in my 2015 M235 for a 2014 535m sport and could not be happier. I actually look forward to driving it. Maybe its like a new woman, but we will see. I just wanted to give that confidence to the next guy who is thinking of the same move. My 235 was horrible on the long expressway commutes and decided enough is enough! The 535 had every package(minus dhp) and most importantly the multi-contour ventilated seats making it so comfortable that I dont think I would buy another car without it. It even massages your ass, so it dos not fall asleep or get sore from sitting to long. Yes it is a little bit of a land yacht, but it moves when you push it. Sitting in traffic rowing gears or in a recarro race seat has no appeal to me,lol. By the way, I paid 46K for the 235 new and 36K for the 70K msrp 535 with 29k miles.

Ventilated seats are pretty nice. That's one thing I've always felt about what my perfectly curved sport seats lack: breathability.
I could just poke a bunch of holes.... |

Congrats on the 535. For me the M235i is almost perfect. My plan is > M235i > M3 Competition Pkg. > 911 Turbo. Granted I'll be about 60 before I can afford the last one but it's important to have goals.
Let's see some pix.

Sounds like the 235 was never the right car for you to begin with. Happy to hear you've found your right fit.

Glad you like your new Bimmer. It's funny how the perception of "relaxing highway cruiser" is so subjective. I went from a Z4M to the 2er and it's like a Rolls-Royce in comparison. I think it's fantastic on the open road.

I always have to wonder why someone would go to a vehicle-specific forum to announce they like something better than the vehicle the forum is about. It's great that you found a better fit, but you can't expect many positive comments from a group of people who have chosen NOT to make the choice you did. We all chose a 2-er when we could have had the 5.
I've seen the same thing on other forums with the same negative results. A guy will get on the Indian forum to say he bought a Harley (actually, that is very rare for good reason) A guy on the ZO6 forum announces he bought a 911. Ironically, these guys were huge fans of the car on that forum and now they badmouth it. Again, good for you, but not our cup of tea at all.

That's a very different spec from an Msport RWD 535.

Not true. There are 2dr sedans, and 4dr coupes. Sedan or coupe is differentiated by the roofline and rear seat space, not the number of doors.
Though that said, the 2-series is a coupe. But if they make a Gran Coupe version with 4 or 5 doors it will still be a coupe.

I'll agree with you on a formal roofline 2-door as being a sports sedan, though. E30 comes to mind. |

4 door Gran Coupe or Coupe like the CLS - is more of a marketing gimmick than anything else.
