DUP deal - We have a government at last

Looks like the deal has been done and an acceptable level of bribe has been agreed! Not a great solution, but a whole lot better than the alternatives. The last thing we needed was a minority government collapsing and yet another election.

Hopefully we'll have at least some stability now.

Let's hope so

Personally I would have rather seen another Con/LibDem coalition but despite Tim's departure that never seemed to be on the cards

So not only has the country had to endure the financial burden of yet another election, but because the witch thought she'd win (and didn't) we've now lost another £1bn. Sterling use of the country's money, well done Theresa!

Corbyn commits about a billion a day in new fantasy world promises, so a billion over 5 years seems cheap at the price!

His last one was when questioned by a 16 year old yoof, why the £10 minimum wage didn't apply to him, he decided on the spur of the moment that it should.

I didn't think we'd ever see Brown topped in the Useless PM stakes, but May has done a marvellous job of challenging him. Let's hope, once May has gone, that we never get another change of an elected PM during the course of a Parliament.

No good will come of this deal.

The only positive is that it's not labour doing a deal with the SNP (and Sinn Fein...)

It seems pretty much inevitable that we get these mid term changes of PM whenever the party doesn't feel that the current PM is the right candidate for the next election.

Even when you have a successful PM like Thatcher or Blair who have been there for more than a full term, there may come a point when the party considers that they need a new leader to win the next election, as they did when they put Major and Brown as PM.

Clearly May is a liability, and the Tories will want a new leader well before 2022.

Good! Usually whining from Labour etc but as the DUP have said they had similar talks with them in 2010 and 2015. Obviously Bbc doesnt like to highlight that fact...

I fucking hate the BBC. For an impartial organisation they are as impartial as Jimmy Saville didn't like fiddling.

Sack the licence fee off & make the cunts survive in the real world.

Not just a £1 billiion, Scotland and Wales are already lobbying for it to be matched, can't say I blame them. And how much are the policies they had to scrap worth?

Oh, and potential unrest in Northern Ireland again. Still plenty that wouldn't mind that, beats the protection racket most of them are in.

On what basis are the Scottish and Welsh lobbying for more? The DUP agreement gives the Conservatives an effective majority, so Scotland and Wales can be safely ignored.

The DUP deal appears to be a pretty straightforward non-partisan bribe to me, so shouldn't affect the peace process unduly.

New thread and repeat.....

I think the deal is great. We now have a conservative, and probably now shifted to the right a little too, NI will see the benefits of more ££ which is does need desperately, far less than Wales and Bloody Scotland. This time they can spend it properly and not just on defence.

So Austerity has slowed or reversed and Labour still aren't happy. Typical communism.

The rights of EU residents is a great offer, Corbyn turns round and demands it should have been offered BEFORE negotiations. Yes Jeremy, because that is how negotiating works. You tell them what you want to give them before you start. Dickhead.

You can tell he has spent his life 'negotiating' with the fucking IRA can't you. Twat.

Hold on....

We voted for a PARTY to form our government - they didn't manage to get their majority and therefore couldn't form a government.

So, what that PARTY did is was enter into an arrangement to help them form a government. I'm fine with that concept.

But now, the PARTY has proposed to spend £1bn in GOVERNMENT (or. tax payer's) money.

They can't do that!! How in the name of feck does a party spend our money in order to take power?! WTF is this country coming to??? If they needed to do this the money needs to come from their party fundraising.

I've have enough of this shit now.

Al least she gave Sturgeon a clobbering! How I hate to hear the sound of her whining voice and Angus Robertson has gone amongst others!

Well done Teresa you and your Party are the best currently available, any alternative is just horrific to comprehend!

I try not to get involved in political arguments but this coalition with the DUP is just awful. These are horrible people with prehistoric beliefs and links to terrorists groups. They should in no way be involved in government. I have told my MP that he has lost my vote for ever.

Fuck me, if that's the best we can come up with in our little Sceptred Isle then I'm buggering off to sunnier climes. Like Uganda, or Sierra Leone or somewhere else with a 'strong & stable' government....

Presumably you said the same to your Labour candidate after 2010?
