Diagnostics help needed

Have a 2007 335i auto when driving with foot on accelerator when gear changes from 3rd to 4th get a hesitation as if car is seizing then jerks into 4th gear. If I driving and gradually build speed it's fine. I've tried reading codes but no codes show any ideas pls?

It's probably an internal transmission issue as it's only going from one gear

See page 240-20 of the Bentley Manual related to the delicate nature of the Mechatronic connector to the transmission. You say you "had a gearbox sleeve replaced"? Was that the Mechatronic sealing sleeve?? Incorrect installation can damage connector pins and cause shift faults and other electronic transmission faults. Electronic faults can cause mechanical wear/faults and transmission rebuild.

Have you tried M-S Manual upshift of M3-M4, M4-M5 and M5-M6? Does it shift properly when manually shifted at the same RPM and shift-point where the problem occurs in D? Check that closely, and let your shop know what you have found, and have them confirm it.

Also, ANY kind of shift issue should be looked at by a transmission expert, with specific knowledge of your ZF 6-speed. Solenoids may need changing, or there may be other problems that if NOT corrected quickly can damage the transmission hardware to the point of requiring a rebuild. It's better to spend $200 to $300 in prevention as opposed to $3,000+ in replacement.
