SSTT 335xi 6MT impressions

I know there have been dozens of threads / reviews on the SSTT... Well here's another one

Install notes at the bottom.

To be honest I think this car has more than enough power stock. But I've got issue's so it went in anyways.

Now on to the good stuff. The car adapted right away. I've heard people saying it takes a few days. Well not when removing the battery. I let the car adapt for about 30km then I did a 2nd gear full throttle acceleration in a pretty steep hill (Going up). And shocked the hell out of my brother.

I can briefly lose traction in 1st gear with DTC off, something I couldn't do stock. I'm not talking about a clutch drop but from a roll.

I thought the gains would be mininmal but they're definetly present. Now the hard part will be holding onto my license

Installation took about 20 minutes. I disconnected the battery. I tried to remove the sensor with my finger nails but the tab was too hard. Had some help from my brother. He grabbed onto the connector (wires) and I gently pried on the tab using a penny. I think it took more time to disconnect the battery.

One thing worth mentionning is do not grab onto the side of the connector to pull it off as the sides are part of the assembly which is connected to the car. So pulling it will get you nowhere. We pulled gently on the wires.

AWD light came on briefly but thanks to the forum I expected that on startup. It went away after a few km's.

Try using a USB cable and you only need to stick one hand in there.

I'll try that next time!

One more thing, I've noticed the oil temperature has gone up about 5C with spirited driving. It's usually around 110C~ (230F) now it's 115C~ (239F). I guess that's expected. I've got an oil cooler too.

It's nice knowing you can put all the power to the pavement with AWD. Have fun!
