Looking to buy it because my bimmer sedan is too small for family. So for me it's SUV time. Test drove it and now I know why it's a drivers top choice - that thing can outpace M3 on track without sweating. 0-60 in 3.9sec with simple tune and 11.9 sec 1/4 again with tune - Porsche left around 100whp and 100wtq at the table for an easy tune to begin with. The car I test drove had 815tq! It had ZERO roll in turns - not even M3 that I drove previously can match that - probably due to air suspension

My question is - even 2011 Turbo cars go for $40k+ at 60-80k miles. Do you guys think they bottomed out and most depreciation is already done?

Definitely not bottomed out....just look at prices for prior generation Cayenne Turbos. An 06 Turbo with 100k can be found for $10-15k. Maintenance and repairs are still that of a $130k car. The 2011's have some issues that I believe were resolved for 2012 model year. Make sure to have a PPI done on any car you're looking at and check the maintenance/repair history. They are awesome though, I was real close to buying one before deciding that an X3 35i for half the price was more reasonable for a second car. I plan on upgrading to a Cayenne Turbo or GTS at some point though...

On a side note, make sure it has the options you want. If you aren't familiar with Porsche, there is a laundry list of options and some are more useful/important to have than others. A Turbo build could be anywhere from ~$105k up to ~$160-170k depending on the options. Anything with MSRP in the $130-140k range is going to be pretty loaded. What everyone above said. We've had an 05 Cayenne Turbo since new and it's been very reliable, but when things go wrong they are quite pricey. As well, it only takes premium and eats gas at a pretty rapid rate. The newer models are lighter and more fuel efficient, but I'd imagine they still cost more than average in gas. All negatives aside, they are very nice trucks and we've been quite pleased with ours.

I read a lot of Porsche technical materials and AFAIK Turbo models are most reliable for many reasons, mainly because tolerances for Turbo engines are easier and hence they are more reliable in the long run. Of course that sweet 4.8 V8 Panamera engine is a engineering masterpiece of its own too

That been said, I'm kinda scared now - insurance, maintenance etc. - so I'm on a fence lol. Hopefully I'll decide within next 2 weeks what to do

I started by checking car reliability first, I left insurance issues for the last - imho it shouldn't be a most important factor. However, since forum members specifically mentioned it - I guess it is something to not overlook

Maintenance for me is not as bad as I tend to do most of it myself. Hey dude, I'm just exploring, Porsche is new to me, but I know for sure that many members have Porsches or had them in the past - this is why I asked in the first place. It's always good to listen what people with previous experience have to say about topic. This is what forum is for after all isn't' it?

It's perfect. Go for it. It literally does everything right. Reliability hasn't been a concern for my 2011 Cayenne turbo.

Huh, that's not you run of the mill e90 335 we are talking about and not even your 340 lol. Not all German cars are created equal, like not all Japanese cars are same. Remember Isuzu? It had one of the worst trucks in terms of reliability. Porsche always is on top of reliability charts. While I agree if you take Toyota Camry and BMW X5 - they may be on the different ends of reliability charts, but for example Porsche Cayenne and let's say Mazda SUV - I'm not sure which one will come out on top in the long reliability run
