Digital Compass Zone
I realize most of us probably don't look at it very often; I do not which is why I'm only now noticing this after 9 months of ownership. However, the other day I noticed that the compass was displaying the wrong heading in a few instances. I checked the zone, and found that it was zone 8. Odd, since I know I set it to zone 12 when I picked up the car (I noticed it was incorrect then too). I reset it to zone 12, but the next day it was still displaying the wrong heading. I checked the zone and found it was back to zone 8.
Am I missing something here? After resetting the zone, the manual seems to indicate that you just wait 10 seconds and you're good to go. Indeed, if I check the zone again while the car is still running, it stays set to zone 12. However, as soon as I shut the engine off, it appears as though it resets to zone 8. Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions?
