Multi car insurance?

Hi guys

Coming up for renewal with Aviva,

I have looked at Admiral, not much different but then Direct Line is looking cheaper even with £0 excess but then their quote system doesn't have modifications section and i do have remap.

Any recommendations on Direct Line and how reasonable they are with mods?

Any other alternative providers?

We are with them this year and they were the cheapest, you just need to call them talk to an agent to declare any mods

Been with Admiral a coupled of years and have seen ok with my modded 335xd and wife's m140

But have increased fat Kid 1 premium by £1000 on his focus st3 no changes in car driver etc etc but of a piss take when they charge £2500 on their site via brokers and others want sub2k seems the multi car thing doesn't work for him.

We're with Aviva and have been for 3 years. Works out better than Admiral but come December I want to know if Direct Line can undercut. In the past I have used to private underwriters or independent brokers and they have been able to beat commercial firms like Aviva but this time they couldn't for me.

All seems to have changed in the last few months - I've just bought my first full year on the X5...

Admiral was £800 two months ago, Direct Line £1300. Its now reversed!

Admiral came within £100 when doing a multi car but I went with More Than in the end; the only difference is that they don't include fully comp across Europe as standard; but when you call them they add 5 days for free any any longer for £29!

Direct line were reasonable with mods when I was with them, but you have to phone them, can't do it online

Look at Direct Line, Churchill and Privilege. All Direct Line Group companies but each having a slightly different scorecard catering to a different demographic. We have been insured with each of them at some point over the last 20-odd years, in the order mentioned above, and switching as the scorecards work in our favour (possibly age related).

We have just been shopping around trying to beat the £526 renewal premium from Privilege for the F30.

The comparison sites were no help and despite me turning 50 this year the old fart's "specialist" insurers such as Saga et al were way off beam.

Got a good quote from Aviva - £451, even better with £50 QuidCo cashback thrown into the mix.

BUT ...

We also have a Citigo on Privilege. With a bit of multi-car discount the premium for this is £1100-ish (18 year old son is a named driver ).

Aviva wanted over £1700 to add the Citigo on a multi-car policy. Looks like we'll be stopping with Privilege on this basis.

I'm on direct line multi car just now as they were the cheapest.

Just tried to add another car to the policy and strangely it wasn't as cheap as getting a separate policy, so that's what I did.
