Lovely but you need a BMW Motorad flag now too. I am considering getting an S1000R to add to the collection. I also like the R Nine T or whatever it’s called.

Sounds like a fun project.
I'm curious what year/model of BMW that is..? And was there a particular technical reason you chose it as the basis for your project, or was price price the primary factor? |

I'd like to tackle something similar at some point but gauging an all-in end result cost would be super helpful. Realize actual mileage may vary based on choices each of us make, but at least a ballpark idea nice to know.

I was curious so I did some searching and it appears to be a circa 1990-ish K75 S, like this one:
http://www.motorcycles-bike.com/Moto...75-S-8502.html Some info from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_K100#K75 Actually, if this info: http://www.bmbikes.co.uk/schemepages/schemek75s.htm is correct, the Royal Blue color was only produced in 1992 (the last year for that generation of the K), meaning it must be 1992 like the one I linked to. |

If you're going to build a vintage style cafe racer, you have to read Song of the Sausage Creature by Hunter S. Thompson.

![]() was searching online for some rearsets and only found one company over seas that makes them but they were $500, so pass on that made my own and i like them ![]() |

My wife always wanted a Ducati Monster but has lately had her sights set on a cafe bike. There was a TV series we were into a while back where they high lighted cafe bikes and the builds. Very kool stuff, we both love the vintage stuff more and more. I think that's because were both getting older now. She drives a '79 mini, did a body off a few years back and put a 1275 cooper motor in it, cam, weber downdraft, heads, pistons and header. Makes about 100 hp. What a hoot to drive, when she lets me. This year we bought a '71 30' Trojan boat, classic lines real 60's- early 70's vibe. Just too much fun. Anyway, the bike looks great. I don't think I'll send this thread to my wife or she'll have me looking for one for her.
Peace out. |

This is a cool project and something like this would be a nice third motorcycle for me. We looked at the Ducati Scrambler Cafe Racer but it uses the older 797 and I wish it had the 821 instead. I’m also in love with the Hyperstrada. |

Nice. Every time I look at Ducatis I end up gravitating toward that bike. Or the Hypermotard SP too, but I really love that deep green Monster. |
