Decline Software Update at Service...if not 335 will be slower?

I have a July '07 built car. I'm 2k miles from the 15k oil service. I searched and found several threads that discuss/refer to a "detuned" feel of the 335 after a "software update" was performed. Has this been substantiated?

Do I decline the software upgrade and have them do everything else, or is this just nonsense? Please advise.

dont decline it, some people think it FEELS slower, without a dyno to prove this, no1 can say for sure. someone just got it and says it does not feel slower but the exhaust sounds louder.

I can deal with a little louder exhaust.

The exhaust may not be louder on an E92; I believe those who have received the update and think they have a "louder, deeper" exhaust have E90's (which have a tamer exhaust note than the E92).

with all of these servide things to find people tuning and modingheir cars, Dinan is still safe since they cover you under warranty for the matching 4 years or 50,000 miles. Dinan is the way to go!

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

By the way, I have a 6MT. Some have posted the feeling of smoother shifting with the program update and the automatic. Anyone do this update with a manual and have any feedback?

Why doesn't someone just post a new 2008 cars dyno. Maybe from the 135 since they probably already have the new software.

I doubt the car would be slower than previous models. Auto cars may need more adapting time so those may feel slower after the flash over the 6 speeds.

My Feb 08 build dynoed 234KW flywheel so the power seems to be on par with the older cars, we did notice the power and torque drop off is less than the 07's
