LED Angel Eye recommendation.
Quick question before the recommendations. LCI sedans came with halogen angel eyes, while coupes such as the 2011 model year came with LED. Is there a difference between a 2011 LCI sedan headlight angel eye design to that of a 2011 coupe headlights? If no difference, couldn't we just purchase stock LEDs for the coupe and install them into the sedan?
Onto recommendations, if stock LEDs from the coupe don't work then what brands does everyone recommend? I see Lux is popular, but their new H8 180 is more than I want to spend, unless they are absolutely worth the price. The HPB 240 H8 on TGS looks amazing and much more affordable. Any other brands to consider, and what's everyone's thoughts? Quick edit. 3rd brand I am considering is DTEC 250W H8 Angel Eyes V14 Any others? Are the 240 too bright? Will heat from either bulbs cause the angel eyes to discolor and turn yellow? Will both of these behave completely like my stock halogen angel eyes? My stock angel eyes stay on during the day as daytime running lights, they also turn on with my fob for when I'm walking up to the car at night. They dim slightly when my xenons turn on. I would like all these functions to remain the same. Lots of questions, appreciate any input you all can offer. Thanks Last edited by MyCar; 08-01-2017 at 03:04 AM.. |

H8 is not the right bulb for LCI halogen. It's a specific/special bulb that only works for LCI halogen.

Thanks for mentioning that site, I was trying to remember where I saw a 3rd brand and couldn't remember the site. They have the 250W DTEC H8 Led Angel Eyes V14. You think I should stay away from these, you don't recommend products from that site?

Can you even put angel eyes in a 2011 328i sedan? I thought you don't get xenons in that car

Appreciate the recommendation. Any thoughts on the HPB 240W H8? Also, why can't we just pop in the OE LED bulb that came on the same year LCI coupes into the sedans? Is the design of the headlights/Angel eyes housing different? |

I've had mine for several months. No issues. They are quality, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again. Can't go wrong with these or the Lux, from the reviews I've seen.

Anybody know why we can't just use the LED from the same model year coupe? Coupes came with LED angel eyes. Are the headlights different from the sedan? |

My vehicle is Pre-LCI and I only have experience with the Lux, but I can tell you I feel they are well worth the extra money. I have the Lux V7s and couldn't be happier.

I got $100 Ziza (or something like that) ones from ECS tuning when my stock bulbs burned out. They did the job of relighting them but its nothing special. If you are looking for bright and high quality get Lux. Pay cheap = Pay twice.

Could be just the photo but the HPB 240 doesn't seem to work so well on the E90 LCI:

Oh, ok then yes H8. I thought you meant you had the halogen headlights with angel eyes.

Echoing what everyone else is saying. Save up to get Lux and do it right the first time. I haven't upgrade my ugly yellow lights yet, but once I'm ready I'll be pulling the trigger on the Lux H8 180.

I have LUX H8 160 on my E90 LCI. They look great. I will say the inner ring is significantly brighter than the outer. Even with the LUX LEDs it won't look as bright as the current generations' double angle eyes.
I would buy LUX again.

Nobody knows if the 2011 LCI sedan and coupe use the same headlights? The coupes came with LED angel eyes, If their the same design why wouldn't we be able to just use the coupe LED bulbs in a sedan?
Thanks |
