Which lawnmower: Honda or Toro?

Hey guys, I'm about to buy another lawnmower and wanted to know if you would recommend the Honda HRR or Toro SR4 Super Recycler. I have a 15 year old Craftsman that my dad gave me, and still works, but does not have enough power for a 5- 6,000sq ft. lawn.

I'm looking to spend about $500 and am open to other brand suggestions. Let me know if you've had issues with either brand.

THANKS!

considering that i just went and picked up my toro to get the blade sharpened etc. and the owner of the shop told me that the top of the line Toro is "the best". but who knows because i'm not sure they even sell honda so of course he would say that.

I've had my Toro for six years now and it's still solid and runs like a top. It still starts on the first pull.

I have owned a couple Toro mowers. They are good quality machines. A lot of landscapers seem to use them.

Altho...with the Toro you're not going to get V-tec POWER!!!

But it's ok...because I just strap my cordless V-Tech phone onto my Toro...and I can say I have V-Tech!!!! **** that's fast!

Note: I'm only joking...and no Honda mower has V-tec

can't go wrong either way...just get it from a local shop (instead of a bigbox store)...my shop picks up in the fall for service and brings back in the spring...ready to go...and I don't have to store it in my garage...they do the same (just opposite with snow blower)

8 yrs going on my toro (not the top of the line) and only do regular service
