Will an E70 steering wheel fit E90?

My friend is trading in his E70 so putting it back to stock. It currently has a nice freshly covered and flat bottomed Msport wheel on it. He has offered it me for a good price for my Msport E91, so wondered if its a simple swap?

What year E70?

The wheel should be plug and play.

This is true. The clock spring will fit the wheel but the wheel diameter will be much bigger than the standard E90.

Your best bet is a first gen X1 steering wheel. I've seen a thread where someone put that in an E90 and it looks good.

This is exactly what I did when I replaced my stock 330i steering wheel cover:

It's the same diameter as the E9x...many of the E9x parts are interchangeable w/the first gen X1, due in large part that the X1 is based on the E9x chassis.
