Fautless new car collection

Daughter collected her 118d shadow edition Msport today and she's as smitten with Lancaster BMW Milton Keynes as she is with the car.
I went with her to collect and I have to say it couldn't of been more perfect.
The car was inside in their collection room, covered up, they went through a great uncovering ceremony and the car was absolutely pristine (not always the case with a brand new car).
I could go on but the short of it all is that what happened today in that 30 mins could really mean BMW have a customer for life.
We're all quick enough to pull a dealer apart so I think it's only fair to say "Well done"
PS I would load some pics but can't work out what they've done with Photobox!

It's always the little things that make the experience. So good to hear that customer service is not a thing of the past.

The best handover of car I had was a used 116d Sport from Lloyds @Blackpool, the cheapest of my BMW purchases. It was very good.

Lovely motor and glad you and your daughter got great treatment. As has been said, it doesnt take a huge amount of effort from the dealer but makes the customer feel special and may well win back their custom.

Back in the mid 90's, I used to buy tax free Saabs when I was in Germany. Used to take the option of picking them up from the factory in Trollhatten. Similar experience to yours, ukblade . One time it was my ex wifes birthday on one of the pick-ups and the dealer had found out. When we arrived at the factory, she got treated like a VIP, car was wrapped like a big present and she got a bottle of plonk, some random Swedish gifts and a box of minging Swedish Elk testicles or some such.

I think that shows as well the benefit of buying at a quieter time - bet if she collected on 4th Sept she wouldn't get the same service....

Ps looks lovely - nice to see a car in a colour...

I haggle the dealers so hard they just want me to pick the car up and get the fuck out of there.

I have to say though, Lloyds Newcastle have thrown a bottle of cheap plonk and a small box of chocolates in the passenger footwells of the last two cars I have got from them.

If it were me and I Knew the customer well. I'd be so tempted to put a wrong colour/wrong spec car under there and for 5mins after the reveal pretend it's a genuine mess up

Lovely looking car and good to know about the service. I'm equidistant to both Lancaster MK and Specialist Cars Tring. The latter being a complete joke for both sales and service.

Well done that dealer. As others have said, it's not rocket science to get it right.

Really makes a difference though and can keep people loyal to the brand. It's a pity it's a rarity these days instead of the norm.

Generally people never mention good service but often complain about poor service. Great customer service should be applauded.

Is that the Sunburst Orange? I'm seriously considering that on a 140.

Can you post some more pictures in daylight please?

Awesome. . Glad it went well and it looks lovely!

Usually ask for the car to be delivered in transport wraps to stop them mullering the paint before the detailer gets it

When Daughter comes back I'll get a few more pics.
She was having this colour no matter what but I originally thought the Valencia Orange was a better colour and this was too dark.
Now I've seen it in daylight it is an amazing colour and really does come alive when the sun is out.
I'm glad I gave her a bit more for the deposit so she could get the Shadow edition as the new dials are great and although it's a basic ID6 it's still a nice step up.

Loving the Valencia Orange, was the colour I would have liked if I had gone for another 1 series.

Incidentally did you get a choice of numberplates? I heard somewhere that the dealer gets some allocated to them and sometimes you are able to choose the reg from a few the dealer has?

Yes this is easy, just ask basically. It's not a huge choice and you're maybe looking out for a few letters of the last 3 that mean something to you. Local area will dictate your leading 2 letters as you know already.

Yes I wondered if that maybe the case, a mate of mine has always tried to get the same 'random' last three letters on all his cars. Wasn't sure if dealers still offered the choice though
