Group buy for performance steering wheel
Anybody in Toronto interested in this?
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136736 I'm probably going to be ordering one in a week or two. I can probably get a better price if other members are interested. This mod is only for hardcore BMW enthusiasts. |

All the pics of this steering wheel that I've seen, it had the button-like paddle shifters on it, so I guess it only comes for automatic cars and not for manuals.
So I won't bother, although it looks really good. Do you have any idea how much it would be?

You can get it for Manual cars as well. My car is manual. This thing makes me drool.

I'm still in the research stages myself. I'm definitely getting this. It's just a matter of time. Go to the cosmetic section of the forum and post your questions. I'm going to contact Budds tommorow with the part numbers to see if they can get it. I might travel to Buffalo or Michigan and get it from the US.

I remember reading it somewhere, the sportpackage airbag module cost around $800. In your case, you need the steering, the airbag module and install labor 1.5hr = close to $1900 to $2000. IMO, not worth if you don't track your car!!

apparently, all e92's use the round airbag (cause soupes are more sporty than sedans) according to bmw...i happen to think a 4 door lanbo would be hottt..but anyways, yea your airbag should be fine spleeny

REALLY... FOR REAL?! So if I bought that tri-color stitched steering wheel from ebay that everybody said is not a bad idea (cuz the dealership costs too much), it'd fit regardless of my car has the sport package or not at factory order time?!

I am almost 100% certain the airbag needs to be purchased if you dont have sport package. Tischer has it on sale for $630.

E92s all have the E90's sport package steering wheel from what I've been told...
So the E92s don't need the special bracket or different airbag... If you dont't have a skinny 3-spoke steering wheel, then you have the sport wheel... If you have the steering wheel in this photo, you have sports wheel:

How about this... when we meet up for the Wasaga Cruise.. you tell me if my steering wheel is the skinny or "meaty" one. I mean.. mine looks like that from what I remember but I could be thinking it's the same...?

This is a picture of my interior.. Took it when I got my car. That's my stock steering wheel. Is that with the sport wheel or without? Looks the same.. except I got this chrome on the wheel center. lol

^^ You got the sport steering wheel. As ben mention before all E92/3 335 got the sport steering wheel standard.
BTW, is it kind or wired with those led display on the steering wheel? |
