Picking new lease car

Time to pick some brains.

If you have a lease vehicle and its a 2yr contract, and its date is coming up for two years, how does it work when picking a new car? I.E when do the lease company contact you about picking a new car? And if you pick a car with a long/delayed build date, what happens to your current car?

Mine didn't contact me - I contacted them about 6 months before the end of the lease (I'd already been looking - and as you say some cars are on extended delivery).

Their pricing was pretty poor on everything I wanted priced except Golf GTIs, so I used What Car Leasing to find my next PCH deal.

They may not contact you until nearer the time. If you like the car and want to keep for another period they may offer you a quote although many have found this to be expensive.

Alternatively search the net and get reading the Pistonheads lease threads to hear about the decent deals. Getting the two deals to fit perfectly timewise may be tricky but you can return the current car early for generally 50% of the outstanding payments or you can extend a month or two as mentioned above.

What car or type of car are you wanting to go to next? There are some pretty decent lease deals about but also some stupidly expensive ones!
