This storm has just been upgraded to a category 4! That is 134-150+ MPH winds!
Complete devastation is expected in Corpus Christi and Houston will get over 2 feet of rain in the coming days...

Having been through 4 Hurricanes myself (Andrew, Frances, Jeanne and Wilma) I can only wish everyone in the area the best. Hopefully everyone has prepared or (even better) left for higher ground inland. There will be a lot of water with this one. I hope everyone stays safe!

Not just coastal. We get severe flooding through central Texas. Last time, many homes were lost as well as residents. Not good for anyone in its path.

Good luck folks! Unfortunately I've been down this path with Katrina. Just keep in mind that insurance companies are only interested in minimizing claim payments. You are NOT in good hands...

Edit: And if you are in the path, take pictures of EVERYTHING. You will need it if you need to file a claim... Also social security numbers, policy numbers etc.

I'm hoping this doesn't turn out to be as bad as they're saying. But 20-30 inches of rain is going to cause some awful damage. Forecasts show that storm just sitting over the Texas coast for days. Ouch.
