I have an iPod touch in my center console I use for music. About 60% of the time when I get in the car and start it the iPod comes on and resumes the music from where it was. The other 40% of the time it just doesn't wake up. If I go into the iDrive menu it tells me the iPod isn't connected. If I press the Home button on the iPod, it'll beep, switch to battery charging mode and the car will then see it and start playing music. Just today I was playing music, stopped somewhere and when I came back out it didn't play. Drove somewhere with it off, parked, had lunch, came back out and it still didn't come one. Went home, parked, came out after a couple hours and it came right on when I started the car up.
I can't figure out why it's doing it. I've tried different cables but it doesn't change anything.

seems random for me. times it will be fine. other times when i start the car i actually have to unplug my ipod than replug and it's fine

OK, so it's not just me. Oh well...
