Well... here goes...

Time for a thread for July deliveries.

I may be the only one around here who is looking at a date this far out, since I got kicked in the ass with a week 23 production slot (4/29 order!) and there's almost no way my car is here before July. So I'm taking the optimistic route, celebrating that July is the best month. America was born, and so was I. It's perfect for baseball, BBQs, and meeting ladies at the beach. I'm embracing July. C'mon and join the party with me.

Even if I'm the only one posting in here, I might keep it up, to chronicle my own journey of waiting and excitement and anguish and dreaming of mods and twisty roads and happy dancing roundels. I'll probably still post in the June thread, too... cause there's more people there...

Dealer is supposedly working on moving it along more quickly. I'm trying to pressure without being a real pain in the ass. The allocation slot thing is what seems to be doing me in, but I know dealers can trade with eachother - so I'm hopeful that they might be able to work something out.

And for MeEmZ - welcome, my brotha from another mother! It's you and me, in this together.

According to my dealer, I am also looking at a July delivery (ordered May 2nd).

In Canada, however, we don't have the benefit of the automated hotline, so we are pretty much kept in the dark until the car is built (once I have a VIN, however, it seems I'll be able to track shipment).

I wanted a Touring (almost none on dealer lots, and none of them manual) so I had to order. In addition, North-American dealers apparently have very little "order slots" for Tourings, so it seems pointless to harass my dealer.

Anyway, I'm sure it will be worth the wait... if I can survive until then

I'm with you guys as well! Ordered on May 5th. Not sure my production week, but it should be very soon. What # is this automated thing I keep hearing about. I just keep checking OC.

I orderd my 335i on April 18th and I got a week 28 build from that 2. I have to wait 3 months to get my car built after I ordered it. WTF.

I even ordered it from the BMW dealer here in Darmstadt Germany.

i'm in the same boat, mine is being produced week 23. ordered via military sales, 335xi coupe, step, premium, sport, monaco blue, heated seats, ipod, hd radio... i'm still in iraq so i'm looking forward to a sweet homecoming.

What # is this automated thing I keep hearing about.

1-800-831-1117 (say “Vehicle Production Status” and then read out your production number; works only in the U.S.)

I have to wait 3 months to get my car built after I ordered it. WTF.

As I understand it, build date depends on whether or not the dealer already has a similar car on order that he can change to your specs (which my dealer presumably did). Apparently, your dealer did not have any reserved slots for a 335i.

This is what happened to me.

Of course, it would've been nice if they had told me that when I asked about dates and the possibility of PCD about 10 times...

I ordered March 11. I have a production number but no production date. I'm assuming it is because I'm taking delivery in Munich on July 8th and production is starting later than those vehicles that have to be shipped to the states for delivery in July. In a waiting mode!

Interesting development today. Called the 1-800 number, because I do that sometimes for fun, and the system kicked me straight to a live person after I gave my production number. She updated my record with a bunch of new information (phone number, email, etc.), and then informed me that I am now tentatively scheduled for week 22 production - last week of May.

But I'm going to stick with this thread, too. We've got a good vibe developing here.

I've been pushing them a bit, since I had originally hoped for delivery at end of June possibly at PCD. So I know they've been trying to figure something out. But they haven't said a word, just that they are making calls, and I only found this out through the 1-800 number. So I'm not convinced it is entirely legit, we'll see.

I figure this - we are about to spend $45000 on a car. They should be pretty responsive to our requests, and especially if you are like me and basically contacted them and said, here's what I'll pay, let's do the deal, it's not like they had to work hard for the sale. So if they have to work a little harder for the post-sale stuff to make you happy, that's fair.

true, they sometimes tend to keep us in the dark and not tell us what's going on with our ($66k in my case ) cars.

as for the post-sale services, they should work on kissing our asses a lil bit more for the $$$ we pay and the pain we go through while waiting for a BMW and knowing that you can walk in to a lexus dealer and drive away in your new "whatever makes you happy" lexus

The car has now entered status 112, scheduled for production next week supposedly. (!!!!!!!)

The dealer is contacting South Carolina to work on dates, and said he'll get back to me shortly. Fingers are crossed that it can be worked out.

Suddenly I'm struck by how much I have to do now. Sell my current car. Switch all my license/residency stuff from Virginia to Washington, DC. Find (reasonably affordable) car insurance. Start pricing out blacklines.
