Has anyone gotten the Dinan stage 3 installed yet?

Do you have any reviews on the new flash? I am curious if it is noticeable since the numbers aren't that much different.

Stg. III will be installed Monday for attorneyscott and I...assuming the install doesn't carry over to Tuesday. You can be certain a review will be posted by the two of us. Further, we will be on dyno tomorrow afternoon in order to get Stg. II (non-revised) + Dinan exhaust baseline...that was supposed to happen yesterday but the weather did not cooperate. Of course, a Stg. III dyno run will occur next week or the week after (to let everything "adapt") for comparison. My intuition is that the dyno delta won't be dramatic...I am more interested in the butt dyno delta.

+1, butt dyno for me with my Stg III.

I suspect the absolute number will not be overwhelming, a bit more torque and power through the RPMS though. Plus cooler turbo (relatively speaking) and hopefully lower engine tempt too.

We'll see.

Sparkyg: you taking notes? - needs extra pipe and bumper fitment after install. I have a vested interest in making sure they got all the install bugs ironed out by the time yours goes under the wrench.

Colin has the new pipe coming. It should be here in time.

Gotta get some info on the fit with the bumper. I am hoping to get more info to Colin tomorrow.

Not sure if it is specific to iballers car or all our cars. Will see I guess.

All this makes me a little nervous. I have a coupe and 6MT...similar to the Dinan car....hopefully all kinks have been worked out on that set-up. Only other potential problem I see is that I have OEM aero lip...I can't imagine how or why this could interfere with the IC, but I suppose we'll find out on Monday.

If you have Stage II and you buy the oil and intercoolers, what is the cost of the new stage 3 flash? I see it listed as $2499. Do you just pay the difference between the stage 2 (1,999) and the $2499? so $500? Do they say this on their site anywhere?

Thanks!

Scott, I can't find it on their site, but you only pay the difference ($500) if you have Stage II.

OK I FINALLY GOT THE STG 3 DONE!! First off let me just say that i am impressed. The response is alot better now! I feel so much torque when i try to gun it every time. The car does feel a lot more power then the regular performance flash. I dont know how stg 2 feels but i can say the difference from the regular flash to stg 3 is very noticeable!! When im at a dead stop and i even press down a little, the car just throws me back from all the torque it has. When i was on the freeway going 70 and gunned it the car still held its ground and pulled me all the way to back making me feel the real true power for this 335!! All i can say is this upgrade is definitely worth it. One more thing i notice that the traction control from the bmw rarely comes on like the previous flash i had. Since the cruve is more linear as many suggest the car can actually perform way better this way. Before when i gunned it on the regular flash my traction control will come on mostly everytime and defeats the purpose of having this power!!.. Now!! with Stg 3 the fun has just begun!!.. i will post later review once the flash is fully updated in my car but this was juss the first couple hours driving it back when i picked it up!! =)

O yeah i was talking to ppl at the dinan dealership and they said since they R and D my car they did a little test run with the New m3 they bought to R and D. The Dinan guy told me my car juss took off compared to the M3. So i suppose the dinan guys did a race 1 on 1 with my 335 to the m3 they juss bought. =) Not to mention i asked him so what are you guys planning to do with the m3.. The Dinan guy said to have the m3 keep up with the 335i they are now making the m3 to a 10 cylinder instead of an 8 cyclinder!! lol!!! This will be interesting when that happens

So dinan plans on dropping an M5/M6 engine in the M3 to make it as fast as a 335i? sounds kinda stupid. They were definately pulling your leg. Cause that is just not practical. Since they can't touch the cats there isn't gonna be a whole lot that can be done to the car short of forced induction. I wouldn't be too happy about them racing my car before giving it back to me. But I guess to each their own..
