Official Dealers to Avoid: Mod Hostile Dealers
actually this thread is what I'd like to accomplish:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142214 Maybe it's about time we make a list of who, where, and why a dealer as given you grief about modifications. This will put a little pressure on dealers and help others avoid problems. The format should be: Irvine - SA: Explanation.... List mods, what they troubled you about, and what you brought the car in for. Lets keep this on topic, discussions should be limited to a different thread; that will make this easy to search. Hopefully if enough of us contribute we can get this stickied as well. i'll start off with Boost Nation's recent issue Irvine - SA?: Brought car in for fuel pump recall. Disclosed the car was modified with a piggyback. Car was flagged, warranty revoked, oil pump replacement and oil change denied. Situation has since been rectified. Car has to be returned to stock at which point the car will be unflagged. The oil pump and other service work will be completed.

I don't think so. You would just be helping BMW figure out which dealers to send more field reps to, in order to tighten the belt even further.

it would say who to avoid not who to go to, it might also impact sales and give us back a little bit of power

well wht i'm really suggesting is something that will make everything more easily indexable. i mean boost nations case is pretty important, it shows that you can get your warranty re instated. you can always try and search through the forums but sometimes it doesn't catch everything and the information is not so easily reached. these cases where cars are tagged are cases already known to bmw. they could just as easily look at their records and see which dealers haven't flagged any cars. it's not mutually exclusive either, just because a dealer isn't on this list doesn't mean they're not going to void your warranty.
