Buying a 2012 335is. What should I be looking out for with this model?

Hi all!

Huge BMW enthusiast, but currently driving a Honda. I'm checking out a 2012 335is this weekend and trying to find resources / buyers guides for the 335IS (instead of 335i) but am falling short. I'm trying to understand common pitfalls/failures/issues so I can plan for them ahead of time.

Are all the faults of the 335i all present on the 335is? If not, what sort of stuff should I be looking out for? Is there any buyer guide for the 335is model specifically?

Majority (if not all) of the issues with the 335i are still present in the 335is.

The 335is has the cosmetic differences, the overboost and the upgraded cooling.

Yep, what he said. Main improvements are dct ( in US) and a little extra cooling- not much else. You effectively get ~3 more years to find an n54 (but not very many).

edit

Now having said all that, the b58 doesnt look bad. A tuned low mile 17 or so f30/b58 (modded) would not be a bad option somewhere out a few yrs - especially once BMW has gone lemming in 2020+ http://www.carscoops.com/2017/09/bmw...-all-post.html
