How long do your brakes last?

So I had my brakes down at 24K miles, was wondering what you guys were getting for front brakes? Luckily this was included in the maintenance plan so at no cost to me. They replaced front brake pads and sensors and re-surfaced rotors. I was told they normally just replace the rotors, but that's maybe when the CBS says to do it versus in my case the brakes were pulsating with no indication from the CBS.

Not sure about the pads, but pretty sure the rotors are original. Just bought the car half a year ago from a lease return.

Garage List
My front were replaced about 25-30k miles, backs done at 40k. I don't consider myself to be hard on the brakes.

82,000 miles and still on the original rotors.

82,000 miles split between a set of F8X M3/M4 stock pads and M Sport Brake Option stock pads.

This includes 12 days of HPDE track time and 3 Auto-X days.

Woa... you guys are HARD on brakes! I did my E90's at 50k miles (80k KM's). There was about 5-7k miles left on them at that time.

Still on original pads and rotors at 85k miles. Service indicator says 30k to go on the fronts.

on my previous GC with M brakes I had the front brakes replaced at 18k miles and rear at 24k miles... the M brakes look nice but the noise plus the dust is just not worth it for me.. i drive about 10 mile round trip daily on the streets of Los Angeles.

54k and still going on original MSport brakes (pad+rotors). Brake dust yes, squealing/squeaking not an issue.

328i with the "lowest" brake option available --

Replace rear brakes warning came up at 55k miles for me
iDrive is still showing 13k miles left for the fronts

I thought that it was odd that my rears needed to be replaced before the fronts considering the brake bias and how much more braking is done up front.

I do a decent amount of sliding with DCT on....at least 2 hard whips a day. I think I remember reading somewhere that DCT will kick in and use the rear brakes to assist so maybe thats how I burned mine up so quickly.

For whatever reason, I've always had my rears wear faster than fronts on all my BMWs. May just be a function of smaller pad contact surface on rears. Don't know

this is my second time doing front breaks, I've had the car since brand new, this second time I had to get rotors at 98k miles... these have been the best and most durable brakes I've had

I think it is interesting that nobody has mentioned the type of driving. 10,000 of stop-and-go traffic in the city yields more brake wear than 50,000 highway miles. I live in San Francisco, and the hills translate to much faster wear

+1 I believe the reason for this is traction control

Mine is at 70000 miles stock from factory the sensors say that I have 11000 miles in the back and 16000 in the front. Not sure how accurate they are.

I wish! Autobox only on the diesels we get here. But then again diesels don?t go fast enough to use the brakes.

On my 428i all my rotors were worn down after a little more than 28k miles... Why have brakes if you don't use them

77,000 kms on original M-sport brakes and the pads still have their bevels. In fact, there is no lipping on my front rotors and the rear rotors are just starting to show the slightest wear.

They say I'm somewhat light footed ...
