Does installation of the Dimisa Tips alone (no "unplug" mod) change the sound of the exhaust?

I love the look of the larger exhaust tips, but I don't necessarily want to change the sound of the stock exhaust.

Thanks.

Anyone know what our stock exhaust tips are size wise? I have no idea where my tape measure is. I'm looking for something a little bigger than stock, but not as big as 3.5" or 4". Would you be willing to make smaller than 3.5" dimisa?

Hmm, I guess those 4" tips just look really big on the videos. My perception must be really off lol.

Are these tips resonated or something?

What are the tips doing to the sound?
I mean, isn't this sound going to sound exactly like the sound of a completely stock system with the "golf tee mod" with regular tips?

He did the Golf Tee Mod, exhaust tips don't affect the exhaust note.

all dimisa tips are resonated.

in fact, we did a few side by side compar-o's with golf tee/unplugged 335's with and without dimisa tips and there's no doubt, the dimisa tips change the sound in a very, very nice way.

Here's the deal about the sound level of these magnificent tips:

My car has the 4" DiMisa tips on for about 4 weeks now. Right from the get go, I noticed a different exhaust note with these tips. It has more of a blurple to it. Then, I did the easy golf tee mod about two weeks ago. Now, the car sounds like the a flat six. I'll try to shoot a video with my digicam and see if that would capture the sound or not. However, you really need to be in person to appreciate the difference.

I also did the easy golf tee on Kevin's 335i this past Friday. We parked our car right next to each other and turned over the engine. You can definitely hear a difference in the exhaust between mine (tips + golf tee) and his (golf tee only).

Conclusion: DiMisa Tips FTW! For those that want to retain factory exhaust, it adds a nice aggressive note to your existing setup. I guess if you add that to an aftermarket setup, you might be pleasantly surprised too.

Here are two pics of the tips (top is stock rear and bottom is M-Tech rear)

Um...I work on 911s and this car definetly does NOT sound like any kind of flat-six that I know of.

Aircooled or not.

not to turn this into a debate, but...

well, i have had my share of 911's, and I can honestly say that the "unplugged" BMW 335 with a set of DiMisa Tips (or no tips) sounds sexier than any 911 even with an aftermarket exhaust.

I have had Tubi and Fabspeed, both resulted in a farty, blobby sound.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Porsche fan, but the only Porsche note that really gets me tickled in the Carrera GT.
