stg 3 update
Ok i had the flash for 3 days now and ive driven it hard... i have nothing bad about stg 3. The stg route is juss simply amazing!!!! I showed 3 of my friends while we were all in the car and the car's torque is unbelievable... even with the extra weight of all my friends in the car.. the god damn car is soo fast when i gun it from a stop or from 60 it scares the hell out of all my friends in the car..they have to grab hold of something because they are scared shitless about the amount of power this car realli has....the response it perfect!!!!!power perfect!!!! knowing that i can drive this car hard and not have to worry about anything breaking because its all under warrranty is juss "priceless".
I hope to see some other ppl with stg 3 soon so you know what i mean!! ^^ |

all i had to buy were the dinan oil cooler, inter-cooler, and the extra 500 for the software because i already had the exhaust and previous chip... i paid about $4,600 because i got a deal since i was the first 335i with this stg3 and they had to do some r & d on my car.

yes i had the stock.. but to qualify for stg 3 you need the dinan oil cooler.. after smashing my car for hours and hours before without the dinan oil i still notice my car gets heated a lot with the stock.. but after this stg 3 and dinan oil cooler.. no matter how much i smash on it the temp is a lot lower then stock.

I'm going in at 0800 Monday morning to have Stg. 3, IC, and OC installed. Write up to follow, of course. Dyno later on in the week...

4.6k is actually sick deal as considering the other aftermarket route will get you about the same or more anyways but WITHOUT THE WARRANTY...
i.e. procede v3(1.4k?) + comparable aftermarket cat back exhaust(1.5k?) / intercooler(1k?) / vk oilcooler(1k?) will probably be a lot more with labor for installation you have to pay on top of all these... congrats bro... according to official dinan website, it will cost one 8k + tax and I don't know if labor is even in the calculations... http://www.dinancars.com/store/Engin...p-1-c-413.html 1699 exhaust + 1599 intercooler + 2499 stg3 flash + 1999/2299 oil cooler + tax Last edited by hun77777; 05-19-2008 at 08:11 AM.. |

more like 8600, cuz he already had stage 1 (2k) and exhaust (1800)
He only paid 4600 for the upgrade. A total of at least $8400

Yeah no doubt you got a good deal, It just seemed that most of the people in this thread were under the impression, you went from stock to current for $4600, thats all.

Seriously, you all bought a 50k dollar car. You should be able to afford 6k in Dinan stuff unless you leased your car in the situation where you shouldn't be able to buy it anyway. I don't get all of these people complaining about the price of this upgrade. It is a good deal considering all of the BS I bought for past cars that are just bolt-ons for minimal hp upgrades. This is a real honest to goodness hp and torque upgrade that is worth the money. On top of that you keep your warranty for 4 years. Sometimes I think people on here shouldn't have bought the car if they can't afford a $2k dollar flash. That is the best $2k spent on a warrantied engine upgrade. Get real people! Try upgrading a G35 or IS350 for anything less than 6k to get half that hp upgrade. What is your logic here for this arguement? Is this because the juice box and SSTT is cheaper? Don't forget that you often get what you pay for in the end.
