An aftermarket panel filter will always flow better then the dry paper elements supplied as OEM. Simple physics.

If it flows better, the engine is doing less work and less work is a gain.

The OEM element is at its best when new but from there it goes down fast. Again, pure physics.

The real question is how much protection are you sacrificing for that additional flow from your aftermarket filter. Realize that not all these high flow filters are created equal even though they may all look the same (urethane, cotton, blue or red oil, metal mesh).

I think this a product where the "Made in the USA" label means top shelf.

Helene certainly knows their stuff and has done their homework in this department. It's entirely possible that there are more gains to be had with the Helene filter than the OEM filter after 10,000 miles are put on both. It's also possible that there are more gains to be realized at higher boost pressures than I tested.
