Helix Attache vs PROcede V3 dyno showdown....

Okay, the day has come!

We will be doing a dyno tomorrow at 2pm. It will be a dynojet and all cars will have three pulls with wideband. This dyno can't log boost however....

The cars participating are as follows:

e90AW335i:

2008 e90 335i
Steptronic
Helix Attache (93 octane map)
Dual K&N Cone filters

e90AW335i:

2008 e90 335i
Steptronic
BMS JB2X (25% with R switch on)
Dual K&N Cone filters

Uhcoug2011:

2007 e90 335i
Steptronic
PROcede V3 PnP (High boost, open element air filter map)
BMS filter kit

Nakashima:

2008 e92 335i
6MT
PROcede V3 PnP (High boost map, stock air box)

As you can see we have a good mix of cars with two different tunes represented.

I just reinstalled my Attache with a new map since mine was having some trouble with the IAT decay feature. I will be doing lots of runs in the early morning to force adaptation and make sure it is ready for the dyno.

Feel free to make predictions, but lets keep this thread clear of BS.....

My predictions: I believe the V3 will put down the most power since it is running the most aggressive boost. As I stated earlier I was having some issues with the IAT boost decay so my power numbers are going to be a tad lower than I thought they would be before.

It should be fun and hopefully we can provide some useful info for everyone....

If possible, the PROcede guys should log the dyno runs for boost, air temp, etc,. All the info needed is here: http://www.vishnutuningforum.com/for...read.php?t=412

What will be critical is how good the fans are since every tuning system employs different Intake air temp compensations for boost and timing. And the dyno isn't exactly real-world when it comes to cooling.

Update Kyle:

I'm running the Stage 0 map with the stock airbox because I don't have the BMS installed...

Just a heads up

You want me to reinstall it before you do the dyno? It will take me like 10 min, you know that...

It is your call....

Sounds good Shiv. I am sure those guys can read up on how to do that. I wish they could log boost but this place said they couldn't....oh well....

Another thing to mention is that this dyno reads low when compared to other dynojets, but this shouldn't matter since we are all going on the same dyno on the same day.

I will be bringing my USB flash drive to get all of the .drf files so that I can put them on the same dyno plot for comparisons for everyone....

It should be a good time....

Just let me know. I am uninstalling a BOV for Nakashima in the morning since it is making his V3 throw codes.

I would be more than happy to do the filter install for you in the morning if you feel like driving out.

PM me for what I would charge....

I will dyno my car first and than uninstall my attache, install the JB2X and adapt it while they other two guys are doing thier dynos....

More than likely I will be dynoing on JB2(.5)HR on 93 octane (not recommended by BMS)

Sorry, but how does a BOV cause a PROcede problem/and or code?

Yeah, I am not too sure but the easiest thing will be to take it off since the PROcede was designed to be used with divertor valves.

Okay guys, I am about to go do some adapation runs on my Attache and than uninstall that BOV at 10am.

I am going to call the dyno shop around 11am or so and verify that I will have enough time to change tunes and do some adaptation pulls on the roads around there.

I will update this thread as the day goes on.
