What new vehicles are you looking forward to seeing in 2018?
Figured I ask what people are anticipating next year. The question is very general so it isn't just about what you personally might choose if you were buying. It can be anything you are curious about or just think is cool for whatever reason.
This could be a product that has already been spoken about publicly, but hasn't yet gone on sale, or something that is merely known to be making some type of debut next year. I've got a few. 1) Volvo S60/V60 - I think this could be a real looker given the S90/V90 lineage. Spy shots haven't revealed very much. I am also very curious whether they decide to do a T8 as they did with the XC60. 2) C8 Audi S6 - Heavily rumored to switch from the 4.0L V8 to the twin-turbo 2.9L V6. I am interested to see how that is received by enthusiasts. The engine gets good marks in the RS5, Panamera S, and Cayenne S. 3) Mercedes CLS53 - Slated to get a ~500hp (~430hp + 70hp from the ISG) version of their new M256 inline six. Could that engine find its way into the next C Class AMG? 4) Ford Ranger - Will look like the global model, but I think we'll get a different engine lineup and a new interior. 5) BMW X2 M35i - If for no other reason, I want to see what kind of performance we can expect from the UKL M Performance lineup. 6) Chevrolet Corvette C8 - Self explanatory. Actually not 100% sure we'll get a peek at this new mid engine DOHC-powered beast in 2018, but I hope so. Is the new GT500 supposed to come out of hiding next year? Seems to be mixed opinions on that, but if it does, I could make room for that one on my list too. |

I am looking forward to the refreshed Golf R wth seven speed DSG and virtual cockpit. Makes it a lot harder to justify spending $10k more for an Audi S3 Prestige.

The new A7 kinda intrigues me. A coworker has one on order but if I end up considering one it will be in RS trim. And only if the F90 m5 ends up disappointing me. In which case it will be a toss up between a new rs7 or a late model, low km gallardo with a proper tt build

I thought I saw one at a DC area BMW motorcycle dealer, but thought maybe I mistook it for a different trim level, but it was in fact a pure. Seating position is good but I think I’ll stick with my Diavel.

New 3-series...will it show that BMW still cares for traditional enthusiasts like myself?
Audi A6/A7 Z5 and Toyota brother Is the next Corvette already on it's way? The C7 barely hit the market 3 yrs ago. Seems like a C8 should be 3-4 yrs away at minimum. The idea of a mid engined 'Vette is sore of blasphemous. |

This all aligns with a $650 million overhaul of the Bowling Green plant that's currently underway. The paint section is done (and rumors are that the first production ZR1s are now being built), and the rest will occur throughout 2018. GM's suspended BG plant tours until early November; that fact alone earmarks the C8 debut's target date ... and GM is sitting on a ton of unsold Corvettes, so the 2018 model year's likely to be truncated because of the plant retooling.

718 Boxster Spyder for my wife. Wondering if it will have a NA engine, or not.
C8 mid-engined Corvette. I probably wouldn't buy one but I applaud the effort on GM's part. BMW X7?? Will eventually need to get a bigger car. Not sure how hideous it will look in production form. New Cayenne is cool, too, so it will be a tough choice. I am also interested what plug-in hybrids will be made available / announced next year. |
