AC Schnitzer springs and Spacers fitted
Hi Guys,
Yesterday I had the ACS lowering springs and Eibach spacers fitted at a local BMW dealership. I have to say, wow what a difference in the appearance. It look just right now and as it should do when it rolled off the production line IMO. I have the adjustable dampers and first impressions are that it has made a slight difference to the ride. Comfort is a little stiffer than standard but I was expecting that and it doesn't in anyway ruin the ride. Below are some pics which I have cobbled together showing similar shots before and after. (before images at the top and after at the bottom) I think you will agree a big difference. The pictures don't really do it justice to be fair. Big thanks to Lorcan at Rossiters for sorting me out.

Thanks.. I am over the moon with it. I think one of the best angles is when you're about 10ft away and look at it straight from the back. The low stance and wider track looks so much better. Quite M3 like.

I paid £250 for the spacers, new longer bolts and locking bolts delivered from Rossiters I paid £650 for the supply and installation of the ACS springs at Sandal BMW in Wakefield. They fitted the spacers for me at the same time. So £900.00 all in.

Perfect stance, it's a very subtle drop.

First time poster. Looking to do this myself too. I’ve read varying set ups for spacers ie 12mm rear and 10mm front. What did you go for? My 335 Xdrive is sitting on the standard 19” and concerned, even with AC Shnitzer springs, it will still sit high. Any guidance welcomed.

Love it, im looking to do the exact same thing on my car. Any plans to get the dinan shockwave flash as well?
Im tempted to just install the springs myself, but of course you only get the full warranty coverage from ACS if a bmw shop does it / auth dealer.

Thanks. No plans to go with the dinan as yet. To be honest I dont really see all the issues others are talking about with the car feeling floaty in comfort mode. If anything it is a little firmer than standard which I didn't find floaty at all. Maybe it is something which is different on the pre LCI models with the suspension but as it stands I am happy with how mine is performing.

Thats fantastic to hear. My only concern (which could be out of left field) is that it is putting more load on the dampers since they necessarily aren't valved for the different rates that the ACS springs have.
Of course, I dont think anyone has ever done any long term testing to see what the impact is. Plus the fact that its not 'that much' lower than stock so the reduction in travel isn't going to be much. ... yes i overthink things ...

Softer OEM shocks will allow springs to oscillate for several cycles before stopping. The result is a chassis "bounce" which may or may not be noticeable, depending on road and driving conditions. |
