I think I have a boost leak. When I get above around 10psi there starts to be a horn/kazoo noise which is really weird. I bought this tester. I was wondering if it would be ok to put one end cap on each of the inlets. I have the VRSF inlets so i'm concerned that if I pressurize them it will blow them off the turbo snouts. Could I just put one on the end of the hot side of the inter cooler? I'll attach a pic.

Do you have the PCV socket on the rear inlet capped with the included vinyl cap? That's essential to the test. Also pop open your oil fill cap as a precaution.
As far as Inlets, I'm factory, so I don't know how well the silicone ones will stay on. I know it's a pain to reattach them if you blow one off. I think they should stay on at 10 psi, otherwise I would invest in better clamps. You need to have the breather hose from the rear inlet to the back of the valve cover disconnected. You don't want to pressurize the crankcase and blow out a rear main seal or something terrible. |
