Hey guys. I have the N55 with a JB4, catless DP, CP, intake and AA exhaust. FMIC coming soon.

I get absolutely no pops or blurps. I am just wondering why?? I know people with the same mods or less that get nice exhaust pops similar to the M3.

Any suggestions? Could something be wrong? It's as quite as a mouse lol

Yes but a catless DP. One midpipe resonator would not lessen the sound to the point I'm at.

you'd be surprised. Get a mid pipe no resonator.

I've heard from several people that would be annoyingly loud. I just want a happy medium.

So in order to get the exhaust blurps and pops I have to delete my midpipe resonator?

How does that explain the people with my same mods or less having the noise I want?

My M235i had plenty of pops with just a downpipe. It pops more in Sport+ after it's warmed up, if you're in neutral or park, than other modes. Are you in the right mode?

No you shouldn't have to get a resonator delete to achieve the pops and burble you want. I get plenty with just a DP + axelback. My midpipe is untouched.

Of course. I've tried sport, sport + , traction off, DSC off and every combination. I can't tell a difference in sound.

Didn't really mean it like that. Yours and my loud is different from other peoples loud. I mean I have a full exhaust with mid pipe and wouldn't say its "annoying" loud. Sounds great lol.

And yea you should be getting some pops and crackles with DP and exhaust. got a video?

Just a catless downpipe will make burps and pops happen. Sounds amazing and doesn't sound like shit with gunshots.

So I have been told. Unfortunately it has not been my experience.

So that leads me to believe something is off....

I have a 2013 with a VRSF DP just like you. Try this as a test: when car is warm ( need to drive for at least five minutes) put in manual mode...drive and rev slow to 4500 rpm and let off gas. Works in any gear but try in 1st/2nd. Should hear pop pop pop poppp. If you don't hear anything then something is off.

What could be off though?

JB4 isn't proper enough?

That would be a good question. Did you just install the DP? Does the car run well? Try my test. When I am in sport and auto the pops are there on downshift but less noticeable. I do get a few in ECO but not much in comfort.

I have had all the mods for a solid 9 months, however I just added the AA Exhaust last week. Only have about 50 miles on it but it never gave me pops before either.

Here is my car from when I installed mine--there is a sound clip at post 36.

I have a VRSF DP, CP, FMIC with no tune ( for now) running on stock exhaust and it pops like crazy when the car is warm and on sports. I could imagine it will be crazy loud after a burble tune.

I know the OP, we live close and he drove my car and got disappointment with his sounds
His is definitely quite. Differences are, AA vs MPE which shouldn't matter I guess. I have mppk which I dont know if it is overwrite with my MHD bef and I have been saying before that JB4 will affect the burbles negative with whatever fuel setting use. I had it louder and pop with just mppk and mpe, no dp or jb4.

My stock exhaust in sport and sport+ popped and burbled a lot. When i put the MPE on, it made the pops and burbles way louder. I don't have a tune and I have the factory downpipe and no other exhaust modifications. Try taking the jb4 off and seeing if the pops/burbles happen.
