Best product for protecting m sport side skirts

So I have a f30 msport with the black msport side skirts and was wondering what people use on them to protect them. I was dumb and when I polished the car last year I used it on them and ended up with some white streaks. Side question, best product for getting the streaks out? Dishsoap?

I know it's more of a plastic or vinyl type material but it's so close to the ground and gets dirty so easy that I wanted to coat it with something. Thanks in advance.

You try using IPA or polish remover (CarPro Eraser, etc) to remove the white streaks.
