Remove M2 emblem front grille

Hi guys,

Does it come off easily or is it stuck to the grille?
I don't have an M2 just yet, just wanted to know because that emblem is coming off first thing when I get mine..

I don't think it comes off. Even if it did there is a backing plate built into the grill so it wouldn't look right. One option if you really want to de-badge it is to use the black m performance grill for the regular 2 series which most people buy anyway for the black surrounds (it's cheaper than buying the actual M2 ones and ends up being the same thing in the end) since it comes with chrome ones unless your buying the new competition. Keep in mind it has different slats than the M2 ones though.

all right, I ordered the IND cover which just replaces the chrome part. When I remove the grilles I'll take a look. It's not critical to remove it I guess, I can live with it. Just don't like badges..even on an M-car..

Badge comes off, it's just stuck on.

But will leave you with the backing plate.

So the backing plate is like a part of the grill? Not glued on or clipped on or anything?

You can dremel the backing plate off but it is part of the grille.

Another option is to have it painted gloss black or black chrome for more of a stealth look.

@IND-Distribution

Probably not your best photo ever posted, you've stuck the "2" on upside down!

It is a bad photo but the 2 is correct, just a bad angle.

Look at the back of your car. That "2" looks upside down too lol. It's why I de-badged my car in the back.

Not double slat though. For that you need to call Cat at IND or find another aftermarket solution unfortunately.

JBSpeed has a solution for $130.

I’m not sure why IND’s solution is so much more at $225 if you get the comparable gloss black surrounds?

If you want the gloss black surrounds they're $225. Isn't that what JB is offering for $130?

IF you just want the gloss black surrounds and will transfer the slats so as to keep the M2 logo, theyre $130 from IND as per my first link above.

You have any pics of that front grill with blacked out badge installed on a car? I am considering it but just wondering what it looks like on the car. Obviously makes the badge mostly disappear if you have a black grill already.
