Which auto insurance company are you with?
Just doing a bit of research on insurance and wondering which company you’re with for insuring your BMW and what’s your coverage? Has your experience been good? Below is what I got from a few that I spoke to.
Progressive: $700/6 months for $100k/300k; $770/6 months for $250/500k. Both include GAP Insurance and road side assistance. Geico: $900/6 months for $300/500k; a bit less for lower coverage. AAA: $1,050/6 months for $100k/300k. Will check out Liberty Mutual, Farmers, Amica and State Farm tomorrow. |

USAA: $300k/$500k w/$200 deductible - $707/6 month but that is reduced by senior rebates and subscriber savings at the end of the year. Effective rate is then about $500 per 6 months.

Well,
Seeing as I just rolled an Audi Q5 down a hill (in 8 inches of snow), my insurance is high as hell, Looking at 1550/6 months right now with any company. Right now I'm with travelers. If anyone has any suggestions on who to go with, please let me know. Trying to get closer to 1200/6 months

Looks like most folks have 100/300/100. Curious why you didn't go for higher coverage considering it's maybe $80 more year? I've heard good things about Liberty Mutual and their car replacement policy.

It really depends on the type of cars you drive around as to what kind of coverage you should get. 100k in coverage covers damn near any vehicle I drive around on a daily basis, with the exception of the r8 and the lambo that the doctor in pcola drives.

On the subject of Erie, I will never consider them even if they are hundreds less because of the shady terrible experience I had trying to get coverage through them as a new customer. |

Can't really compare rates without all the demographic stuff to go with em- age, driving record, criminal record, credit rating, not only what city/state, but where exactly in that city, miles driven per year etc....
Insurance companies do some serious background inquires these days, which is why so many want your SS number for even a quote. Which bugs the heck outta me! FWIW, I'm State Farm, and right at $606 for 6 months. Been with em for ~30 years and have so many discounts stacked up now that comparison shopping never comes close

Agreed. I called Progressive yesterday and they asked for birthday, address, phone number, etc. those are standard so I gave it. Then they asked for SSN and I told them no. Do what you have to but I'm not giving that out before even deciding to go with you guys. They said okay but we'll still look at your background with the info you've given us. I was fine with it since it's a soft pull. It's annoying for sure.

make sure on your binder you have it noted that you only want brand new OEM replacement parts. If not you will get refurbished parts that are covered by their warranty. This can come back to burn you. If I wasn't in the situation I am, I would have been screwed when I was with Gieco and I hit a deer years back. They would only offer me refurbished parts and or the value of those parts which was WAY lower then OEM parts. for someone who would have to pay full cost for OEM parts it would have been a crapload of money.
Im with and have been with since that day with Farmers, also have it noted only replace with OEM brand new parts.

Geico seemed to be the cheapest for me by a lot. About $560/6 months with standard coverage and 500 deductable. 23 with a clean driving record, although i classified it as pleasure only and my yearly milage is set pretty low, like 8 or 10k so I think that's a big part of it too. Other companies were around $1100..

I have Wawanesa, which even beats out Geico by at least $20/mo and only about one of 3 companies I've found that is below $100. 32 with clean record, $500 comp+col deductible, about $72 a month for Huntington Beach, CA.
