Muffler Delete w/ catless DP and stock resonator

Hello,

I am sure this topic has been beat to death, but whats everyones opinion. I have watched a couple videos on youtube, but I dont feel they do it justice.

I guess my question is:

1. Have you heard it in person? Whats your opinion?

I have this setup actually, I personally think it sounds really good. I will say that cold starts are a little on the louder side but it's not bad. I may even get an upgraded resonator. There is some drone at 1.6k and 3.1k RPM.

This setup is the best bang for the buck imo.

Yeah I also have the same setup just got it done on friday and yeah at low RPMs the noise is very loud around those RPMS other then that its great. Just a couple spots where it makes that obnoxiously loud noise. Love WOT though. A upgraded resonator does sound like a great idea. I payed 250 for my muffler delete and i got custom tips for a extra 120 so even that still beats paying 1000 for a axleback. I really want to fix that noise and it vibrates a lot of things around those RPMs.

Sounds ok if you like loud. I’d keep the mufflers.

Oh man, I paid $180 total, 4" black chrome tips and all. What tips did you get?

I'm looking at getting an SLP Loudmouth Resonator!

OP: On a scale of 1-10, 10 being ear-bleeding loud, this setup is a 7-ish. In Sport + it burbles well and at WOT it sounds great, no rasp at all and the change in pitch at 3k RPM is pretty fun to listen to. Also, at low RPM's you can here some turbo spool. I'll get some good exhaust clips and I'll post on here soon.

I got 4 inch black power coated tips. The brand I can't remember. When you first got your muffler delete was it super loud at first and after a while started to settle in?

VRSF catless DP, stock resonator, muffler delete with Vibrant resonators welded in place to manage the drone levels. I like it a lot!

Oh okay so you put resonators on each pipe coming from the mid pipe? Wish I would of did that in the first place would of saved money and some drama lol
Could you put a link to the exact one for me please and thank you?

Thanks again for the feedback....Yea I think im just going to go for it. The car sounds so good right now, but I dont feel like the sound coming from it matches how fucking fast this thing is...

I have this setup. I even kept the oem exhaust flap...drone at ~80 (6MT). Planning on adding resonators in the future. For now I enjoy the spool lol.

In case the muffler delete is too loud for you..

I and like many others have mpe with catless and stock resonator and it sound great with no drone. Its probably not as loud as the muffler delete but its tame on idle and sounds good on WOT.

Yeah same here at 3000 and 1500 except I think I need to get mine redone because if I give slight pedal at 1000 rpm my car shudders so I'll probably put resonators in the y pipe because the drone is a little too much for passengers especially in the backseat because they say their but vibrates when there is drone lol

not a bad exhaust setup as long as you keep the resonator. personally, I think any car, especially an inline 6 which tends to rasp and lose it's unique "muscly" 6 cylinder tone sounds like shit with a resonator delete.

as for the muffler, it has a Hemholtz resonator inside which helps to remove unwanted frequencies with almost no restriction on overall exhaust flow, hence which is why even in stock form the the N55 in these vehicles sounds so free-flowing. also, the shape of the muffler helps to evacuate airflow out from underneath the car more effectively, so overall it's better to keep your muffler. also, the muffler will help create some backpressure below 2500RPM to retain some low-end torque.

if the catless downpipe, resonator and muffler delete setup is just a little too loud for you or drones too much, I would recommend installing two resonators in place of where your muffler should be, right behind the exhaust tips. this really helps clean up the tone and remove some unwanted drone, but it barely affects overall volume.
