I guess I shouldn't speak for everyone, though. I forget simple things and make stupid mistakes.
I've been working on my e90 a few hours a night for a while now. I did new shocks and struts, OFHG, OPG, walnut blasting, new belt tensioner and pulleys, and new vacuum lines. Last night I finally got it all buttoned up around 11:30 and was super excited to start it. Once I did I was misfiring badly. I was pretty ticked, but once I settled down and thought it through I figured it out. My misfires were on cylinders 1 and 2, and I went through the procedure of pulling the plugs and coils and checking them. No problems there. Then I wondered if maybe I had crossed the ignition wires when I had everything out. That was it. I swapped them back and now the car runs smooth as butter. Anyone else make stupid little mistakes that ruin your sense of victory at the end of a long project? |
