Hi guys, does anyone have any recommendations for a scentless odor eliminator?

You might look into purchasing or renting an ozone generator or HEPA air purifier, or find a detailer that can do it.

Thanks! I've never heard of an ozone generator before but that does sound like the right solution. Based on a quick Amazon search, $70-80 is a great investment.

Has anyone have any experience with using the ozone generator? I've done 3 one hour sessions and I still can't get the smoke smell out. One of the sessions, I left the AC on high and recirculating on. The car smells really fresh after the session is completed but after ventilation and letting the car sit for a few hours, it still smells like smoke.

I've ordered new air filters so will change that out this evening. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. My wife has a very sensitive sense of smell and can't sit in the car without feeling sick. So if I go anywhere with her, we have to take her car. :

you may need to have the carpets steam cleaned professionally to get that smell out. if you have the original floor mats, id throw them out and get new ones as well. Even your headliner may need to be replaced.

smokers kill cars.

I bought that one after John in VA recommended the Ozone generator. 15 minutes in my Lancer's fabric interior and all the sweat/moisture stench from years at the gym was gone.

Maybe you need a more powerful generator?

Just a generous spray (like a regular air freshener) and lock the car over night?

Yeah spray on carpets and any other cloth including headliner then just give a general all over spray filling the entire car in a dense cloud of the stuff, slam the door shut and let it sit for a while with the windows all sealed. You'll be amazed at the difference.

I'll have to check with my detailer to see what they used on my car a couple of years ago.

My cat got into a fight with a raccoon and needed a fast trip to the vet. My wife was in such a hurry that she didn't grab his carrier, and he peed and pooped all over the back seat.

She called me to say she was getting the interior done while the cat was getting patched up. "If I don't do it right now, you'll have to throw away your car. I struggled to keep from throwing up the whole way here."

They said they would redo it if the smell returned, but they did a fantastic job and I never caught a single whiff of it.

Thanks, will give it a try. I'll probably try every option until something works.

Thanks, looking forward to finding out what they used. Although, I feel like they might keep that a secret as they would prefer people paying them for their service.

I second this. And it doesn't cost much.

Ozium is definitely inexpensive. I tried it this weekend but the scent didn't last very long. Unfortunately, I think the previous owner smoked with the windows shut.

I lightly sprayed the headliner & carpets with McGuire's upholstery/carpet cleaner and wiped it down yesterday. Hopefully, this helps.

Get an Ozone machine. Dealerships use this to get rid of heavy smoke smell. You can get one online less than $50 USD. But depending on what smell it is may still be stuck in the headliner. Removing odor from the headliner is a pain. You can't spray or wash it for obvious reasons. I've seen detailers using a steam machine and covering the tip with a towel and gently dabbing small areas.

Nature's Miracle - It's basically an enzyme that reacts with biological waste to eliminate the odor somehow. It's used for blood, urine, feces, etc.

I had a sick dog that swamped the entire back seat of my car once. It was pure liquid poop and it got into and under the seat. I had to take the rear seat apart, and when I did there was a sewer underneath. I thought the smell would never go away. One day I applied generous amounts of Nature's Miracle. Follow the directions: clean first, then soak and let sit. In this case I let it sit overnight. The next day I did it again... and again, and again. After 3 or 4 applications the smell was completely gone. It really was a miracle.

I can vouch for Ozium. I'd get the unscented one which is the blue can or citrus. The black can has a really strong perfume which isn't pleasant. You can buy from Amazon or Walmart for $4. Get the spray bottle not the scented beads.
