Someone should correct me if I am mistaken, but as far as I know, every E9X has had this feature since inception.

Don't all cars with DSC (incl late-model E46) have brake drying? I could have sworn it's been around for a while now.

I think this is one of the features that is faulty as well. I have the damn brake squeal at 20mph or less and it's because of the brakes. I have scheduled an appointment with the dealer. Don't know if they are going to replace the sensors or shaves the brakes.

the brake drying feature is only activated when the wipers or auto wipers are on

I had the same thing and asked my buddy ( a BMW service tech) about it. He said it's actually the brake pad wear sensors that that squeal. I mentioned it was kind of annoying, and he agreed. Supposedly they've had this "problem" for a few years now. I think that's the real problem with it, is BMW doesn't consider it a real "problem" as it's just a noise and doesn't affect anything.
