Aux port plays beats but no vocals

Asking for a friend...2010 E92 328i xDrive.

His aux port has been acting funny since he bought the car. When we play music through the aux port, the vocals are muffled and distorted. The beats play fine.

I know it's not the speakers, the speakers work 100% fine because when we listen to music on the radio the songs sound 100% clear, vocals and everything.

We've already tried a new (to us) aux port off eBay, plugged it in and it still doesn't work. Although the aux port we got off eBay was used, I highly doubt it was defective.

The aux port is known to be a Low Fidelity Input in all BMW's common
audio system's If you have the base or stereo system this is even more
magnified as its a POS.
Base stereo is identified by no tweeters in the doors.

Solution is to modify the system with decent speaker's and amp ,
And also use something like this to avoid the aux Input.

2010-328i also. I had this exact same problem when I bought my car. In my case the plug itself wasn’t making a complete connection. Wiggling it around while plugged in seemed to fix it, haven’t had any issues since. Might want to check the quality of the plug going in too.

Did you try a new cable? Sounds like the cable you are using is bad.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Yep, I've tried 3 different aux cables. Same results. Also tried cleaning out dirt in the aux port.

The plug? You mean where the aux port plugs into the car? Or where the aux cable plugs into the aux port?
